Responsibilities include writing and editing copy for website and presentation use. Attending client meetings, keeping notes on brand specifics, and creating video/media pitches.

 

Writer: November 2016-April 2017

Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce, Buena Vista, CO

Responsibilities included interviewing, visiting, generally interacting with local businesses, including many outdoor stores and outfitters. Writing, editing, and presenting story ideas/articles for the Chamber visitor and relocation magazine/guide, and selling ad-space to local businesses.

Aims Community College, Loveland, CO

Responsibilities include development and implementation of curricula for undergraduate courses focused on veterans and other non-traditional students. I also acted as faculty advisor for the Aims Review: a student-run campus literary magazine, engaged in faculty meetings, facilitated writing activities for the Writing Center, and authored master syllabi for the department.

 

Writer in Residence: June 2016-August 2016

Ranger Station Residency, Buena Vista, CO

In addition to being an artist in residence, responsibilities included: establishing and maintaining the Watershed website, social media, and blog. Advertising for events, creating and maintaining relationships with local businesses and neighbors. Writing copy for press-releases. Brand creation and upkeep.

Fordham University, New York, NY

Responsibilities include the research, development and implementation of new curricula for multiple undergraduate courses. I led class lessons for 20+ students, conducted individual student academic development sessions, and managed the class's online portal. Achievements include:

•      Launched new Fordham Lectureships initiative

•      Served as a main coordinator with Department head to evolve program

•      Facilitated interaction between visiting authors and student leaders

SUNY Empire State College, New York, NY

Responsibilities include spearheading and editing student work for literary magazine focused on labor workers, meeting with faculty and staff on a regular basis, collaborating on assignments and goals. Meeting one-on-one with students of varied programs (Labor Studies, Social Sciences, Nursing Students, and Interdisciplinary). Executing various assignments and language objectives.

 

Instructor of Creative Writing, MFA Program: August 2010-May 2012

Butler University                                                                                                              

I taught as a part-time creative writing instructor for both the undergraduate senior seminar, and the graduate (MFA) program in creative writing. I developed curricula and led seminars in varied genre and topic. In the MFA program, I designed new courses that centered on technology and changing platforms for creative writing. I facilitated guests in the visiting writer series and helped oversee events at the Efroymson Center for Creative Writing.

NUVO, Indianapolis’ Alternative Newspaper

I covered feature/cover articles, music reviews, and cycling news for the greater Indianapolis area. I conducted weekly interviews for various pieces, and met with editors and photographers on a regular basis at the NUVO offices.
